Robert Fripp and Toyah Willcox cover The Number Of The Beast: “An Easter twist on this Maiden classic”
Toyah Willcox and King Crimson’s Robert Fripp have put a charming “Easter twist” on the latest cover in their Sunday Lunch video series.
The couple were joined by a spooky masked figure – guitarist Sidney Jake – in their kitchen as they tackled Iron Maiden’s The Number Of The Beast, Toyah wearing a bunny outfit and holding up some carrots while Robert… well, kept it cool and simply shredded as always.
“An Easter twist on this Maiden classic – Number Of The Beast,” they said. “Be afraid – very afraid!!!”
Last week, Maiden guitarist Adrian Smith hinted that the metal legends have some “very, very exciting things in the pipeline”.
“I think it’ll be worth the wait, put it like that, as far as the Maiden things go,” he teased. “There are some very, very exciting things in the pipeline. So that’s all I can say, really… But I think the fans are gonna be delighted.”
Until then, enjoy Robert, Toyah and Sidney’s take on The Number Of The Beast:
