Watch Gojira’s Guitarist Take A Pyro Blast To The Face… And Return To Finish The Set

Watch Gojira’s Christian Andreu take a burning and keep on churning!

No matter how much they tour and how road-wise they’ve become, live musicians are always faced with unexpected and sometimes dangerous occurrences on stage. The real test is whether or not the band, after they get injured or scuttled, can come back out and keep the show rolling. Well, Gojira guitarist Christian Andreu has officially proved he can hang, taking a pyro blast to the face during a recent festival show…and then coming back out onstage to finish the set.

As shown in fan-shot footage via Twitter, Christian is at the front of the stage performing the band’s track Stranded at Sonic Temple when a 10-foot blast of flame hits him in the face (and as you’ll see, “pyro” in this case doesn’t mean smoke or glitter — it means a giant jet of actual fire). Christian then stumbles off the stage, but only a few minutes later returns to finish the set, albeit with a red face.

Watch the hardcore near-fatal accident below:

YIKES. We hope Christian is okay, and tip our hats to him for taking an almost-deadly accident like a champ.
