The Offspring To Release Their New Album In Early 2020

Of the many punk albums we're excited for in the coming year, the new one by The Offspring is high up on the list. The record -- the band's first since 2012's Days Go By -- has had rumors surrounding it since the beginning of this year. Now, guitarist Noodles has said that the band have tentative plans to release the album in early 2020.

Speaking to Halifax Today, Noddles described where the band are at with the new record, saying, "The artwork needs to be done and we have a rough track listing. We’ve even gone and done more music since. We just need a distribution deal, and we want that done by the end of the year. Then we can release early next year.”

Noodles went on to discuss the band's progression over time, saying, "The evolution was really slow. We’ve moved back to playing music we fell in love with and finding a way to keep it fresh. Punk rock was there when we were young, trying to figure out where to go and what to do...We also always wanted songs you could play along to, and ones you’d get stuck in your head.”

Speaking to Kerrang! earlier this year, Offspring frontman Dexter Holland said of the new album, “It sounds like our old shit! That’s what I’m supposed to say, right? I don’t really know how to describe it. I guess it’s punk rock, but then we throw in a couple of songs that aren’t what you’d normally predict. We have a lot of really fast stuff on there, plus a couple of things that you might not really expect from us. But I’m really, really happy with it.”

Keep your eyes peeled for more news about The Offspring's new album in the near future.
