The Trolls World Tour Trailer Features A Bunch Of Metal

Yesterday, we broke the news that Ozzy Osbourne would voice a villain named King Thrash in the upcoming sequel to the animated film Trolls. Now, the first trailer for the movie has come out, and it introduces us to the film's metal guitarist villain to the tune of music by Scorpions and Ozzy himself.

As you'll see in the trailer, the story behind Trolls World Tour is that there are different realms of trolls, each based on different kinds of music -- specifically Pop, Country, Classical, Funk, Techno, and Rock. Apparently, the queen of the Rock trolls intends to destroy all other kinds of music except rock -- a noble endeavor, obviously, though the movie casts her as a villain. There's also a rap troll, but he doesn't get his own race and is made of glitter for some reason.

Watch the Trolls World Tour trailer below:

So, ah, yeah, that's a heavy metal troll, all right.

What's notable about the trailer is that even though the Rock trolls are portrayed as these world-conquering badasses, it's heavy metal that soundtracks the whole thing. The preview opens with the evil metal troll playing Ozzy's Crazy Train, and the latter half of the clip is soundtracked entirely by Scorpions immortal Rock You Like A Hurricane. So hey, rock music may be evil, but it still totally slays.

This is, of course, also not the first time heavy metal fans have been portrayed as horrible villains in cinema. Stranger Things 2 had its violent, nihilistic metal fan (turns out -- gasp -- his dad was a dick), and Suicide Squad had the Joker looking like a shit version of Oli Sykes. At least this pink troll has a cool guitar.

Anyway, Trolls World Tour comes out next year, so get ready to get super high and go see it in 2020.
