blink-182 are making a new album, drummer Travis Barker has confirmed.

It’s been a little while since we last heard from blink, but all of that could soon change, as Travis confirms in an interview with The New York Times Popcast that work on the follow-up to 2023’s One More Time is underway.

“I’m starting a couple of other projects, like producing projects, working on the next blink album,” he says in the interview. Later on, he clarifies that the work on the blink project is taking place this year, rather than next year.

On top of this, he also confirms that he’s producing and playing drums on Alkaline Trio’s next record. He’s produced some singles for Trio already, and it marks another Blink/Trio crossover moment after Matt Skiba performed with them after Tom DeLonge quit in 2015.

New music coming would make sense given that Blink’s touring plans are starting to take shape. They’ve been announced as the headliners of Germany’s Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park and have some other European dates in the diary, which also puts them in pole position to potentially headline Download next year for the first time.

Meanwhile, Travis Barker’s new documentary, Louder Than Fear, is coming to Hulu and Disney+ later this week. It traces his rise to success with Blink-182 and dives deep into the tragedy of the 2008 plane crash he was in which left him with burns over 65 per cent of body and kept him from flying for 13 years.
