Right after dropping their trippy surprise EP Statica, Avenged Sevenfold opened for themselves by playing their new music live, yet without coming on stage.
Avenged Sevenfold and Good Charlotte had an extra opening act on the first night of their joint North American tour in the form of... Avenged Sevenfold.
A7X effectively opened for themselves at Thunder Ridge Nature's Arena in Ridgedale, Missouri over the weekend, performing their surprise new EP Statica in full after support act Jayden Hammer had played.
As fans will have learned by now, Statica pushes the envelope even by Avenged's standards, swapping riffs for electronics and robotic vocals, and things got even weirder as the band played it live for the first time from backstage. The performance was then broadcast from the screens in the venue.
Luckily, they got a breather before they came on stage proper, as Good Charlotte was playing first that night.
