We'll shock you: after dropping their debut EP God Made Me An Animal just over a week ago, Better Lovers made their debut live appearance at a matinee show last Thursday. And it was absolutely bonkers.

The band – made up of former Every Time I Die blokes Jordan Buckley, Clayton "Goose" Holyoak, and Stephen Micciche, Dillinger Escape Plan/The Black Queen singer Greg Puciato and Fit For An Autopsy's Will Putney – played at The Rec Room in Buffalo, New York, home of the ETID lads.

Introduced onstage by fellow ETID alumnus/professional big boy Andy Williams, the band tore through cuts from the EP, as well as a cover of Soundgarden's Rusty Cage. Watch footage of the madness below…

Speaking about the formation of the band, following ETID's split from singer Keith Buckley, guitarist Jordan says, “Looking back, I’m so happy everything got me to where I am.

“The pandemic and the last few years made me hungrier and more grateful," he continues. "This isn’t a hobby. This isn’t temporary. This is the next evolution for each of us. Greg and Will rejuvenated me and made me even more confident. Now, everybody needs to know we’re a wild animal that just broke out of the zoo — there’s no trying to put it back in the cage.”

“Jordan sent me some already finished instrumental tracks, and they hit me at just the right time,” says Greg. “Those tracks woke up a side of me that I thought was fully extinct but was merely evolving and changing. To my complete surprise, there was still something left in that area to dig at, and the vessel for it made sense.”
