2000trees add Funeral For A Friend, The Bronx, Marmozets and loads more
Funeral For A Friend have been revealed as the second main stage headliners for this summer’s 2000trees, while elsewhere over 30 more bands are joining the line-up.
As well as announcing a huge London show at Outernet, Arcane Roots have announced a special Bandcamp-exclusive EP containing new versions of comeback single A Wave, Across The Sea.
Arcane Roots have confirmed plans for their biggest ever headline show in London for later this year.
After making a surprise return with their first music in eight years at the top of 2026, this year’s only getting bigger for Arcane Roots as they’ll be headlining London’s 2000-capacity Outernet on Wednesday, November 11. Support comes from False Advertising and Love Rarely.
The artist pre-sale is live now before general sale kicks off tomorrow (May 29). Other than than their appearances at 2000trees and ArcTanGent and their two warm up shows in Milton Keynes and Brighton this July, this will be fans’ only chance to catch the band live in 2026.
In addition, Arcane Roots have also announced a special new EP featuring new versions of recent single A Wave, Across The Sea with alternative endings.
The new EP will be available exclusively on Bandcamp on June 24 and won’t appear on any streaming platforms. Fans who buy a ticket to the Outernet show will receive a free download of the first track, A Wave, Across The Sea [Hands Of God], while on June 10 a second track will land in the hands of anyone signed up to either the band’s Discord or mailing list.
"A Wave, Across The Sea was one of the very first collaborations between Bjarni & myself. Long before any notions of Arcane Roots returning, it emerged in fits and starts, inevitably surviving pandemics, elections, protests, lockdowns, earthquakes, childbirth and numerous volcanic eruptions,” says singer Andrew Groves.
“So you can forgive me for thinking, while bobbing along on our volcanic little ice cube in the North Atlantic, that it almost felt as if all the worlds’ monsters were suddenly emerging from the murky depths society had long banished them to, while we experienced the very real throws of a deeply disgruntled earth; bucking & spewing its mantle onto a bed of moss & lichen.
"It is quite an outer-body experience to feel the ground moving beneath your feet, something that I feel would humble even the sturdiest of bipeds. Growing up in the UK, I was fortunate enough to not have to experience most of natures scariest turns but it soon put into perspective just how futile our existence is against the forces it employs.
“Thematically, this brought forward a concept; if we all felt something strongly enough, could we bring it into physical existence? We’re all aware of the ideals of spreading peace & love throughout the world but what if that feeling was one of division instead? If we all felt truly indifferent towards the ‘other’, could that somehow create some sort of physical impact?
“We’re all aware that extreme stresses & strong emotions can present as physical illnesses on the human body, so with a little more volume could that extend even further? To one another? To our surroundings? To the earth? Each ending explores these as a different choice. A split in the narrative, for you to explore as you will."
