The secretive and iconic Blue Man Group recently had the absolute thrill of hearing My Chemical Romance’s Welcome To The Black Parade for the first time ever – before then being asked to instantly cover the song.
For Drumeo’s awesome series, the trio – who “don’t know human music” – and their musical director Josh Matthews were filmed being played My Chem’s 2006 epic single (which is a great watch in itself), and then attempted to cover it in their own unique way.
In the YouTube comments on the video, BMG write: “This was one of the most fun and most musically challenging things we have done! To figure out how the Blue Man and Josh would perform this together onstage and what the Blue Man version of it would be in such an incredibly short amount of time took work from our entire NYC cast and crew. An example of what creative collaboration can do to create something magical.”
