The singer told a fan on Twitter that the band is about to enter the studio.
Plenty of people have been wondering when Slipknot will begin recording a follow-up to 2014's .5: The Gray Chapter. Now, Corey Taylor, the band's singer, has confirmed via Twitter that the band will enter the studio in January.
In a response to a fan claiming that the band would hit the studio in 2020, Corey tweeted the following:
This isn't the first time Corey has hinted that the band are getting ready to record something extreme. In our recent sit-down with the singer as part of our In Conversation With… series, he said that the new album would be "Iowa-levels heavy."
He also posted on Instagram about working on the album. And given the European tour dates that Slipknot announced for June of 2019, it'd make sense that the band is doing so to promote or support a new album.
