Wayne’s World brought rock and metal fandom to the big screen, and is still the absolute gold standard.
Queen's masterpiece Bohemian Rhapsody has been turned into coronavirus self-isolation advice
If there's one thing the world needs right now, it's a reason to laugh. And that's where YouTuber Adrian Grimes comes in with his parody of Queen's iconic Bohemian Rhapsody – cleverly retitled as Coronavirus Rhapsody.
Adrian's comic reimagining of Queen's 1975 smash hit turns Freddie Mercury's rock opera into a warning for all of those who don't wash their hands and self-isolate: 'Mama, I just killed a man,' indeed.
The parody lyric video has been viewed over 3 million times since it was posted just over a week ago, although Adrian has received a slight backlash to the new lyrics.
"I've had a few comments suggesting that this is 'insensitive'," he wrote. "I want to emphasise that I know where these people are coming from. My wife works in healthcare and I have two young kids; I know very well how this virus could impact my family. Every day that my wife goes to work, I hope it is another 'bonus' day we get together before the wave hits and I don't have to quarantine her and stop our children from hugging her.
"However, I hope that even in those circumstances, should they occur, I will still be able to maintain a sense of humor, and a lot of comments from people already affected by coronavirus have told me how much they appreciate this. I thank you for your understanding in these unprecedented times."
Coronavirus Rhapsody isn't the only reworking of classic rock for the pandemic age, as last week a Los Angeles art agency redesigned iconic album sleeves to resemble self-isolation.
