This year's Download Festival is – as always – absolutely effing stacked with the biggest, brightest and best names in all of rock and metal.

From headliners Limp Bizkit, Guns N' Roses and Linkin Park through to the next big things in South Arcade, thrown and Sleep Theory, if you're a fan of any shade of alternative music, then you're going to be stuffed to the gills with awesomeness.

But Download is about more than music, it's about the people. The tens of thousands of metalheads, punks, emos, moshers, goths and more that descend on The Hallowed Ground each and every year.

Speaking to Kerrang! recently, superfan Amy Valentine described Download as "a metal utopia" and "one of the few places I can be free to be feral."

"I let loose and I also feel like I am myself as much as I can be myself," added fellow fan Grecia De La Paz. "We go crazy, we’re screaming, we’re dancing and jumping."

Regular Downloader Matthew Scar added that he sees the festival as like this big bubble" and "the only thing we have to worry about is the set times, the music, having fun."
