Foo Fighters cancel all upcoming tour dates following the death of Taylor Hawkins

Foo Fighters have cancelled all tour activity for the foreseeable future. The news comes days after drummer Taylor Hawkins passed away at just 50 years old.

"It is with great sadness that Foo Fighters confirm the cancellation of all upcoming tour dates in light of the staggering loss of our brother Taylor Hawkins," reads an official statement shared on the band's Twitter.

"We're sorry for and share in the disappointment that we won't be seeing one another as planned. Instead, let's take this time to grieve, to heal, to pull our loved ones close, and to appreciate all the music and memories we've made together."

Since Taylor's untimely passing was announced this weekend, the world of music has been awash with heartfelt tributes to the beloved drummer. Friend and Jane's Addiction leader Perry Farrell said in a video message, "What I’m gonna do from this day forward is to try to make music that I think Taylor would really love."

Elton John paid tribute onstage in Iowa, dedicating his single Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me to Taylor, as well as "his family and his wife and his children".

Countless more memories and messages have been shared across social media from the likes of Liam Gallagher, The Prodigy, Biffy Clyro, Ozzy Osbourne and Taylor Momsen.
