Wish you could relive Ghost’s epic Skeletour from last year? Soon you’ll have your chance, as the band are teasing the release of the official concert film.

The band confirmed they had filmed the final two dates of the tour in Mexico City, which took place at the huge Palacio de los Deportes on September 24 and 25, “for the rest of the world to see at some point”. That ‘some point’, it turns out, is just a few months away.

Ghost shared a teaser to their Instagram, featuring Tobias Forge’s glittery Papa V Perpetua mask coming closer and closer to the camera. At the end, it confirms that the concert film is coming to cinemas and IMAX this August.

This is Ghost’s second concert film after 2024’s epic Rite Here, Right Now, which was filmed at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum in September 2023. The band had banned phones for that particular show, meaning fans had to lock their devices away in Yondr pouches. Inspired by the success of that policy, they continued banning phones for the Skeletour.

“The first thing that hit us, the first night we came offstage, was the crowd was phenomenal,” Tobias said in March last year.

“The face value of not seeing phones was literally like time travel,” he continued. “I’m not talking about like back to the ’80s, I’m talking about maybe 10 years back in time when people were generally not filming as much, whereas now in modern times it’s just ridiculous. If you’re playing in front of 10,000 people, 8,000 people are holding a phone. And we just said, ‘I wish it was like this all the time.’”

Ghost also previously confirmed that the Skeletour film was captured on 16mm film, so it’ll have a rather different look than Rite Here, Right Now.

The Skeletour unfolded across the globe between April 2025 - the same month that their latest album Skeleta was released - and February 2026. Tobias then confirmed that he was ready to take a “step away” from the band for a while, saying he “needs to be home” and wanted to explore other projects outside of Ghost.
