Gojira Are Teasing Something: "Another Place To Be"

Is new Gojira music finally on the way?

A brand-new Gojira album has seemingly been in the works for well over a year now – but it looks like we could be getting much closer now to finally hearing fresh material from the French metal titans.

Back in May 2019, drummer Mario Duplantier teased that “work is in progress” with the follow-up to 2016's Magma, and that he and his bandmates were “very happy and super proud of it” so far. They also (publicly) returned to the studio that September, perhaps to finish off what had already been started.

Now, Gojira have taken to social media to post a cryptic looping GIF alongside the hashtag #anotherplacetobe, which could well be a song name, album title, or even just a lyric from an upcoming single.

On Twitter, fan eagle-eyed fan replied to Gojira's post with a photo of one of the band's official Live At Red Rocks show T-shirts, which features the phrase 'Another world, another place to be'. Could that be a coincidence, or have Gojira been actually teasing new material further back than just this week?
