The biggest weekend of the year for bands, beer, battle jackets and bin jousting is just around the corner. We could only be talking about Bloodstock, which is making a glorious return to Derbyshire’s Catton Park in just a few days' time. As you get down to your last few days of packing (and remember to bring your inflatables if you’re helping Party Cannon break some Guinness World Records this weekend), we’ve put together a handy guide to help you decide whether you’ll need your sunglasses, a poncho or perhaps both… [via BBC Weather - correct as of 1pm BST on Monday 3rd August]

August 6 Thursday

Those who are pitching their tents early this year won’t have much of a battle of the elements luckily, as Thursday is looking pretty overcast. Temperatures will peak at 21 degrees, but the evening’s looking chilly with lows of 9 degrees. Bring a hoodie for when you go to watch Saxon…

August 7 Friday

The clouds are staying put on Friday, but there’ll be pleasant highs of 23 degrees as Lamb Of God, Sepultura, Municipal Waste and more lay waste to Catton Park, with lows of 11 degrees once the sun goes down and the bands finish. Not so bad!

August 8 Saturday

We’d advise packing some waterproofs on Saturday, as there is some rain forecast into the afternoon and evening. Luckily, there are only supposed to be light showers, but it could continue drizzling for quite a while. There’s still going to be some sun though, as well as highs of 23 degrees and lows of 11 degrees.

August 9 Sunday

The rain will have packed up by the time Judas Priest, Testament, Body Count and more hit the stage on Bloodstock’s final day. It’s another overcast one, but hey, overcast days at festivals are rather underrated if you ask us (and it beats the 35-degree scorcher Bloodstock saw a few years ago). It’ll still be comfortable temperature-wise at least, with highs of 24 degrees and lows of 11 degrees.
