Sublime have announced their first studio album in 30 years
Following 1996’s self-titled album, Sublime will be releasing their “epilogue”, Until The Sun Explodes, this summer…
"I look towards my father’s work for guidance at every turn, and Can’t Miss You is a perfect example of that," said Sublime vocalist Jakob Nowell of their new single.
Ahead of their first ever UK shows at Slam Dunk this weekend, Sublime have dropped a new single, Can’t Miss You.
The song is the latest cut from the band’s forthcoming album Until The Sun Explodes, which arrives on June 12 via Atlantic.
“We just wanted to drop this one for the hardcore fans. No lead in or marketing push behind it. Can’t Miss You is probably my favorite track on the record,” says vocalist Jakob Nowell.
“It was one of those magic songs that got written in a day. The strange chord progression was definitely inspired by my father’s songwriting, especially songs like Pool Shark and STP. Classic Sublime always had this feeling like you never knew where the song was going to take you. I look towards my father’s work for guidance at every turn, and Can’t Miss You is a perfect example of that.
“The lyrics of this single are some that I am the most proud of. I hope people will find escape in the stories of this song and the entire record Until the Sun Explodes."

Until The Sun Explodes is Sublime’s first album in 30 years and their first proper recordings with Jakob at the microphone, who came on board in 2023.
“The last Sublime record that will ever be made is self-titled,” Jakob said when the record was announced in March. “There’s no replacing history, period. Until The Sun Explodes the album is an epilogue, and Until The Sun Explodes the single is the epilogue to the epilogue.”
Jakob also appeared on Codefendants' recent single Lonely Life.
