Metallica Soundtracked The Undertaker's Return To WrestleMania This Weekend

This past weekend's WrestleMania 36 was notable for many, many reasons – from the unprecedented closed set due to coronavirus, to Edge's first singles match in almost nine years. Also included in the highlights was The Undertaker's Boneyard Match against AJ Styles – and it was made all the more awesome by the inclusion of Metallica.

The metal titans' ace Hardwired… To Self-Destruct track Now That We're Dead was used as The Undertaker's entrance theme, making one of the most legendary wrestlers on the planet's walk-on approximately 666 per cent more badass.

It's not the first time ’Tallica have been involved with WWE, of course, with their classic single For Whom The Bell Tolls soundtracking Triple H's entrance at WrestleMania XXVII.

Nevertheless, the four-piece were clearly thrilled with their inclusion, tweeting, “The legacy continues. WWE superstar The Undertaker walked out to Now That We’re Dead on the WWE Network!”

In other ’Tallica news, the band recently launched #MetallicaMondays, a weekly concert series in which they will unveil a full stream of an old live performance via YouTube for fans to enjoy and break their boredom.

"As the COVID-19 pandemic has sent us retreating to our homes, Metallica has launched the #MetallicaMondays streaming series: Each Monday at 5:00 pm PST, they'll broadcast a full concert from the Metallica video archives directly to your couch via YouTube and Facebook Live," a post on their website reads. "Generous donations to AWMH via the simultaneous fundraisers on each platform from fans enjoying the weekly series have already amounted to $15,000, and we’ll continue to raise funds during the weekly streams to support those impacted by COVID-19.

"We know this is the hardest of times for many of you, but if you would like to support any of these organizations, please feel free to reach out directly to our incredibly dedicated partners, as their needs are very wide-ranging; every dollar helps."
