Metallica fans in London can celebrate their M72 shows with a film festival, a conversation with Kirk Hammett and a blood drive.
The first weekend of July is looking pretty sweet if you're a Metallica fan, as the band have just announced a programme of special events coinciding with their No Repeat Weekend shows in London.
The band have been circling the globe on their M72 world tour in the last few years, which notably features No Repeat Weekends in select cities – two shows, two different setlists, and different support acts.
They’re just about to set off for another European run and will be back over here in late June and early July, where fans in the capital will be treated to a No Repeat Weekend at London Stadium.
In celebration of the London shows, Metallica are taking over with a series of events across the capital. Kirk Hammett will be sitting down for an in conversation-style event at EarTH in Hackney on Saturday, July 4, and film fans can head down to the iconic Prince Charles Cinema in Leicester Square for a Metallica film festival.
Furthermore, the tribute band Metal Militia will be performing at the Underworld in Camden. Metallica will also be helping the NHS out by hosting a blood drive, more details of which will be revealed soon.
A Metallica pop-up shop will also be open at Kachette on Old Street, east London, between July 2 and 6.
Tickets for the Kirk Hammett event, the tribute band show and the film festival will go on sale tomorrow (May 8), at 9am UK time.
Catch Metallica’s No Repeat Weekend shows in London on July 3 with Gojira and Knocked Loose supporting and July 5 with support from Pantera and Avatar. They will also be playing in Glasgow on June 25 and Cardiff on June 28.
