Metallica have teamed up with The Coda Collection to livestream their two 40th anniversary shows in San Fransisco later this month.

The metal titans' celebratory sets will air for free via Amazon Music and Prime on December 17 and 19 from the Chase Center, with more plans on the way in 2022, too.

"It’s almost here… our 40th anniversary celebration is right around the corner!" say the band. "We’re looking forward to hitting the stage in San Francisco at Chase Center with so many of our friends visiting from around the globe those two nights next week. While we wish each and every one of you could join us, we know you can’t all be in the house. So we’re incredibly excited to announce that our friends at Amazon will be streaming both shows live, as they happen, worldwide and for free!"

After that, the shows will exclusively hit The Coda Collection / Prime Video Channel, with more documentaries, concert films and additional content also coming next year – alongside other stuff by the likes of Foo Fighters and Jimi Hendrix.
