The former Megadeth drummer, Nick Menza has sadly passed away at the age of 51.
Nick was performing on stage with his current band Ohm at the Baked Potato in Los Angeles where he collapsed on stage and reportedly suffered with heart failure.
The sticksman featured on four of Megadeth’s albums, most notably 1990’s Rust In Peace along with 1992’s Countdown To Extinction, 1994’s Youthanasia and 1997’s Cryptic Writings.
Megadeth frontman and former bandmate Dave Mustaine took to twitter to post the following:
TELL ME THIS ISN'T TRUE! I woke at 4 AM to hear Nick Menza passed away on 5/21 playing his drums w/Ohm at the Baked Potato. #nickmenzarip— Dave Mustaine (@DaveMustaine) Sun May 22 08:54:14 +0000 2016
