Watch Dethklok Play Live For The First Time In Five Years

The cartoon metal band made their spectacular return at Adult Swim Fest this weekend.

This July, it was announced that animated metal band Dethklok — whose touring line-up includes very real musicians like Brendon Small and Gene Hoglan — would play their first show in five years at Adult Swim’s new music festival. The fest went down this weekend, and just as scheduled, Dethklok performed a set in full.

Dethklok’s almost-show with the London Philharmonic recently made our list of the most exciting collaborations between rock artists and classical musicians. The night was supposed to be the biggest, most celebrity-studded charity event of all time, complete with a massive laser light show. Unfortunately, an equipment malfunction resulted in the lasers being a little too powerful and slicing the entire orchestra in half. While some audio recordings of the event remain intact, the visual aspect is more snuff film than genre collaboration. Still pretty metal, though.
