Caps lock-loving alt.star ZAND has announced details of their new EP, SEWERSTAR.

Originally slated for last month, ZAND's new EP is now due for release on September 7, the seven-track EP includes recent singles DTF and Battery Acid, as well as the just-released Deliverance.

Speaking about their brand-new track, ZAND says "Deliverance sees the narrator caught in a maniacal spiral into depravity, hellbent on retribution. A satirical chronicle exploring the dynamics and consequences of exploitation, paranoia, stalking and reactive abuse.

"Sonically, Deliverance is inspired heavily by the theatrically laced emo and nu-metal bands I listened to in my teens, like My Chemical Romance, System Of A Down, The Used etc. The dark cabaret/polka elements were undeniably influenced by bands like The Dresden Dolls, and even film scores like Danny Elfman’s work in The Nightmare Before Christmas had a hand in its birth. Instrumentally I’m harnessing these showy elements and multiple BPM changes to represent the histrionic build-up of the story, along with the upwards unravelling of its narrator, towards its inevitable climax.”

Listen to Deliverance below.

As well as a new EP, ZAND is heading on their first-ever headline tour of the UK this October – get your tickets now.
