The 50 best albums of 2024
The Kerrang! countdown of the 50 albums that shaped 2024.
Following 2018 debut Post Traumatic and his 2020 Dropped Frames trilogy, is Linkin Park legend Mike Shinoda gearing up to release more solo music?
We’ve had a new Mike Shinoda solo tune this year in the form of the killer In My Head – featuring Kailee Morgue and used in Scream VI – but by the looks of things we’re going to be getting a lot more from the Linkin Park man in the near future…
Following 2018 solo debut Post Traumatic and 2020’s Dropped Frames trilogy (yes, we know about 2005’s The Rising Tied with Fort Minor too, but we’re talking stuff under his own name here), Mike seems to be teasing his next solo chapter, posting a video with the caption “soon” where he’s shaving his head.
In February of this year, before In My Head’s release, Mike said of what he’d been up to in an interview with KROQ: “Up until this year, I’ve been doing a lot of writing and producing for other people. And I recently kind of got the bug to do it for myself again. I do have a new song that’s gonna be in the movie Scream. What happened is they had reached out about: ‘Will you help us with music for the movie?’ And in the conversation I played them something and they were like, ‘Oh my god, can we use that?’”
