On Saturday night, the coming together of heavy metal and performance dance made its beautiful debut with Black Sabbath – The Ballet at Birmingham’s Hippodrome theatre.

The three-act production – which includes Sabbath material as well as new music inspired by the Brummie legends – was attended by the likes of Sharon Osbourne, Robert Plant, Bev Bevan and Tony Iommi, with the latter even joining the cast onstage for a one-off performance of Paranoid on guitar.

Black Sabbath – The Ballet will run in Birmingham until this coming Saturday, September 30, before it makes its way to Plymouth and London in October (it’s all sold out but keep your eye out for any potential returns).

Take a look at everything that happened on the memorable opening night below.
