Tony Iommi’s got something up his sleeve, judging by a new teaser posted to his social media.
The Black Sabbath guitar legend has shared a video that zooms in on his hand on the fretboard of his guitar as he’s playing a riff. Is there new music on the way?
It’s been rather a long time since he last released own music under his name, with his last solo album Fuse arriving in 2005, while he joined forces with Ian Gillan for the WhoCares charity project in 2012. In fact, he’s released music with Sabbath more recently, with their final album 13 coming out in 2013.
Adding to this, Tony said at the beginning of 2026 that he would “definitely” have a new solo album out this year.
“I’m really looking forward to that,” he said at the time. “I’m enjoying doing it, it’s been great fun, and I really hope you enjoy it. But I’ll keep you more up-to-date as we go on, what’s happening with that and when it’s gonna be released.”
Either way, we’ll know more on Wednesday (July 29), according to the teaser. Stay tuned for more as and when we have it.
