Lonely The Brave confirm return of original vocalist Dave Jakes and announce headline shows
Lonely The Brave have reunited with original vocalist Dave Jakes and have announced their first headline shows with him in a decade, which will take place in Cambridge and London later this year.

Lonely The Brave’s original vocalist Dave Jakes is back in the fold and the band are celebrating with two headline shows for later this year.
Dave performed on their first two albums, 2015’s The Day’s War and 2016’s Things Will Matter before departing in early 2018 due to health issues. Jack Bennett then began singing for the band up until his own departure in January 2026.
In the interim, Dave released a self-titled solo EP in 2020 and teamed up with Jack Wrench of the recently reformed Arcane Roots to form the project Interlaker in 2023.
After releasing some mysterious teasers last week, Lonely The Brave have confirmed they are playing two headline shows in their hometown of Cambridge on November 12 and in London on November 17, a decade to the month since they last played a headline show with David.
The Grey are supporting on their Cambridge date at Mash, while Eyre Llew will open for them at London’s Bush Hall.
“The five of us reconnecting was something totally organic and unexpected. There was no big pre-conceived plan to start playing with Dave again, but it’s been the best thing ever,” says guitarist Mark Trotter. “To all be in a rehearsal room together again, hearing his voice with the songs we wrote, being the band we were when we first started all this... It’s incredibly special and something all five of us are not taking for granted.
“The only reason we are here, coming back as our original lineup, is based solely on a sense of friendship, fun and freedom. It’s exciting for all of us, and we can’t wait to see you all at these two shows. They will be the first of many, but are definitely the only shows this year. Once the tickets are gone, they are gone. See you in November!"
Fans can access a pre-sale which opens on Wednesday (July 22) ahead of the general on-sale on Friday (July 24)
