LOUD WOMEN have announced a one-day takeover at Rebellion Festival on August 4.

The feminist DIY collective will be hosting the Introducing Stage on the Sunday of the beloved punk fest, putting on a line-up of female and non-binary bands – from Fräulein (pictured above) to The Empty Page.

“Rebellion is (by far) the UK’s biggest punk festival, and the Introducing Stage offers new, DIY bands the chance to play to an enormous crowd who absolutely love discovering new bands,” enthuses LOUD WOMEN founder Cassie Fox. “So it’s the perfect place to showcase some of the band’s LOUD WOMEN champions!

“We all know that the most exciting and innovative new alternative music is coming from women and non-binary musicians, who for so long have been under-represented on big stages. We have a great opportunity here to bring a fresh new flavour to the classic punk scene.”

Specifically speaking about who is playing this year, Cassie adds that all acts they’ve selected have “either already blown our minds and stolen our hearts on LOUD WOMEN Fest stages or have recently arrived on my ‘must-book’ list”.

“There’s a beautifully eclectic mix of righteous alt. rock from The Empty Page, NXKXTA and Playing Alice; pounding punk rock from the likes of Baby Said, Hipersona, Baby Teeth and The Dollheads; riot grrrl inspired disco rage from The Red Stains and Twat Union; glorious grunge from Fräulein and SNM; and I can’t wait to see what the punks make of electropunx Arch Femmesis!”

Rebellion Festival takes place at Blackpool Winter Gardens from August 1 – 4.
