Melissa Auf Der Maur Hints At Hole Reunion

Melissa Auf Der Maur has suggested that a Hole reunion could be on the cards.

Melissa, who joined the band in 1994 following the death of bassist Kristen Pfaff, revealed to German magazine Visions that she recently met up with drummer Patty Schemel and guitarist Eric Erlandson. She believes that now is a good a time as any to reactivate the grunge legends.

"We've all grown older, have become more gentle, and I have the feeling that now would be the right point in time to reactivate the band once again," Melissa says. "Now it's been exactly 20 years since I've left the band, and I want a piece of our glory back. Hole was a great band, and it's important to remember them properly."

Last October, Melissa hosted a career-spanning celebration of Courtney Love at Basilica Hudson, her arts centre in upstate New York. During the event, she revealed that the Hole vocalist changed her life forever, alongside thousands of young rock fans.

“The lives you really changed were those in the front row," she said, "at home in their bedrooms, holding onto every word and every scream, [the people at] rock festivals around the world, the ones you pulled up on stage to play your guitar. You were singing for them, you made a safe place for them to be angry, to be beautiful, to be heard and to be understood.”
