Courtney Love will be coming to BBC Sounds and Radio 6 Music in April for a series looking at her life in music, and the women who have inspired her on her own journey.

The eight-episode program, entitled Courtney Love's Women, will see the Hole legend telling her life story, while also celebrating and championing artists from all eras who had an impact on her.

The first four episodes will be available via the BBC Sounds app from April 8, with one going out on BBC 6 Music each night of that week at 11pm. The next four will follow the same schedule from April 15.

In between, on April 12, to mark the 30th anniversary of Hole's landmark Live Through This album, 6 Music will also host Courtney Love day, playing tracks from Courtney and the artists who influenced her throughout the day, with testimonials on Courtney's importance from Lambrini Girls, Kate Nash, The Last Dinner Party and more.

“Courtney Love is an icon and a trailblazer – her influence on music and culture over the decades is undeniable," says Samantha Moy, Head Of Radio 6 Music. "At 6 Music, we invite artists to share their stories directly with their fans and our listeners and I’m very proud that Courtney will be hosting a series of incredible shows for us in April. Halfway through the series, on Friday, April 12, we’ll celebrate the 30th anniversary of one of Courtney’s most powerful works – Hole’s Live Through This – by dedicating the schedule to her music, the music that influenced her and the artists she’s inspired in Courtney Love Forever.”
