Volbeat Have The Most #1 Mainstream Rock Songs Of Any European Band

It's a little amazing to consider how high in rock's ranks Volbeat have risen. While other bands and trends have come and gone, this Danish swing-metal quartet have dominated the ears of listeners around the world with music that lands somewhere between Pantera and Elvis. Now, Volbeat have made history in the Billboard charts, officially becoming the European band with the most #1 songs in the history of the Mainstream Rock chart.

According to Billboard, the band's new track Die To Live, featuring guest vocals by Clutch frontman Neil Fallon, has jumped to the #1 spot on the Mainstream Rock Charts, making it the band's eighth song to do so and a tiebreaker between them and U2 to make them the European band with the most top entries on that chart.

That said, Volbeat are tied for 9th on the list of most Mainstream Rock chart-toppers as a whole. Here's the breakdown of which bands have them beat:

Shinedown - 15 songs
Three Days Grace - 15 songs
Van Halen - 13 songs
Disturbed - 10 songs
Godsmack - 10 songs
Tom Petty - 10 songs (both solo and with the Heartbreakers)
Aerosmith - 9 songs
Metallica - 9 songs
Five Finger Death Punch - 8 songs
Foo Fighters - 8 songs
Linkin Park - 8 songs
Nickelback - 8 songs
Volbeat - 8 songs
