The last time we hosted the Brooklyn version of our K! Pit concert series -- where big bands play small rooms to select groups of their diehard fans -- Floridian stoner rockers Torche brought an excellent mix of mellow groove and thick riffs to our favorite Brooklyn dive bar The Gutter. And while that was an excellent show, it lacked a certain je ne sais kicked-in-the-face. So when hardcore lifers Norma Jean offered the play the Gutter's back chamber, we gleefully accepted -- and delightfully suffered the consequences.

For fans of metal and hardcore, Norma Jean need no introduction. The band were one of the defining forces in the metalcore boom of the early 2000s, with albums like Redeemer and Wrongdoers cementing them in the scene, as well as in the ears of hungry young fans of extreme music. The band also received a Grammy nomination in 2005 for their album O' God, the Aftermath, which was nominated for Best Recording Package.

Want to see Norma Jean in all their frenzied glory? Tune in at our Facebook page tomorrow, September 12, at 7:30pm BST (2:30pm EST / 11:30am PST) to watch an exclusive livestream of Norma Jean's Brooklyn K! Pit performance.
